Corruption in the starting zone
So I started this game about 2 days ago, I'm still adventuring in the 1st zone Chersonese, I fought some illuminator horrors and some mantis near the corrupted tomb and now I have 29% corruption. Looking at the wiki it seems the only way to remove corruption is to go to the DLC area which costs 200 silver and to buy expensive 45 to 90 silver potions. You can apparently craft them but it all takes DLC zone materials which I don't have and have never seen.

Am I missing something?

It seems wierd that you can get corruption from the starting zone yet have no possible way to remove it from anything in the zone.

Every horror type of creatures will apply corruption when they hit you.
Outside of that, there are no "corruption zones" in the base games, not like they have in the DLC.
I do agree we should get a corruption healing mechanism outside of the DLC area, though.

Until they add the option to de-corrupt yourself outside of the dlc... get hit less by the scourge enemies?

Does it remove the corruption when you die?

Well I guess I didn't really miss anything then. I could understand if it worked that way as a late game mechanic since early game players don't really have the means to easily go there and get back or at least if it was enemies in later zones that gave it but as it stands I basically have to spend 200 silvers and some rations to go there with the Soroborean trader. Then buy a bunch of potions that cost between 45 to 90 silvers each and then pay 200 silvers again + rations to go back to the starting zone. And there is no guarantee as to which city he will send me back to. So I'm looking at probably a 1000 to 2000 silvers investment if I want to buy a couple potions so I don't have to go back and forth too many times. I did finish the corrupted tomb and ended up with about 35% corruption. I will probably try to avoid corrupted enemies for a while and work on making more money.

Just did that maneuver. 500 silvers or so. Just get a couple of the cheaper potions for reducing corruption; without a zone, it doesn't build up very fast. You need to get caught in a lot of the spray from the little illuminator horrors to start racking it up.

Quite annoying though. I would think the Sorobean traders could stock a couple of the cleansing potions...

Great idea, I think someone else might have suggested this in the Discord too.

The devs are aware of the feedback, Gheeyom was considering just making the entire Corruption mechanic part of the whole game etc, so they are exploring ideas and aware that people don't like how it is at least.

They could put a priest NPC in towns where you can get your corruption cleansed for a fee, so while you wouldn't be able to clear it in the field without getting the potions you would at least have some way to clear it without having to amass a lot of silvers and going to Harmattan.
