We were just reflecting on the many humorous situations and how much we liked the game. There was however a bug, which is almost a game breaker which we were wondering if anyone, had posted about. It seems the problems existed back in 2019 and was still a problem when we played a couple of months ago in April 2021.
The bug was if you drew your bow or if you blocked with your shield you were stuck doing that. In the case of the shield your stamina didn’t drain. In the case of the bow your stamina slowly went down. You couldn’t add more arrows to your bow, or drop the bow, or fire your bow or switch weapons or do anything except move around with your bow drawn. The only way we could recover from the situation was to exit the game and return.
It did not happen all the time. It seemed to be more frequent in online coop mode, but it also occurred in single player mode. I could be so bad that we usually didn’t bother to use our bows. We were also glad that we didn’t go for an archer build since that would have been a complete waste of the precious breakthrough skills.
Ditto - Keleb and I played Outward a LOT both together and solo and really love the game!
This bug was our top "please fix" issue for the game. We both liked using some bow options and considered making more bow-focused characters, but this bug makes that impossible. The same issues occur in single player and with shields but with less frequency. When it does happen in combat, its basically a death sentence. In multiplayer, it happens so frequently with the bow that we basically stopped using them. Shields were OK, but when it came up (infrequently) it was a killer.
