Theres plenty to do, it can be fun and yes the enemies are alot easier.
My first character I rushed hard, I found out about the tribal favor. And was done in chersonese in all of 5 minutes. I then spent an hour getting demolished in the marsh. Sure I could take one or two with my little fang sword but it seems to me those hounds just love spawning in packs of 3+.
Second character I took my time. Ive hit almost every poi in chersonese, I took the time to fully train into merc and shaman with money farmed in chersonese, I feel much much stronger than my original character.
I did the opposite of staying tho, since I wanted some basic melee skills to start with, so made some money, bought full spellblade tree with fire infusion, therefore required the Warm Bless, and had to travel to the dessert.
Long story short, all the travel to get the skills actually payed very well in return since I found myself making easy money on some regions. Even was able to clear some minor dungeons for some decent loot.
The thing is.. explore as much as you can!
