Vendavel fortress chest reset

So is there a way to reset the puzzle so I can get to the chest?
I read somewhere people were resetting it by leaving the fort & coming back but mine wont.
The floor is still missing under the rings.
Man I love this game but that is a dumb oversight if it wont reset if you fail just once per save file.

You don't need to reset it. You can reach the correct chain even while the floor is open, you just have to position very carefully.

However, that said, all cells reset after like a week or 2 in game. The main map does too, but only if you've left it alone and gone to another region for long enough.

Awesome, I'll have a another look & see if I can find the sweet spot.

Im not having a lot of luck finding this sweet spot, it really seems impossible to me how you would get it from such a massive gap, the correct chain is also slightly higher than the other ones, does that mean anything?
