Cell Reset Timers
I was wondering if anyone can confirm before I go to the next Map, attempt ‘my plan’ and then cry myself to sleep,

I’ve stayed in the first Area Map for a long time now, almost 30 days, exploring a lot more then I did my first run when the game launched. While I’ve noticed that enemies may get reset every now and then, all the Supply Caches on the map have not.

I’ve never attempted to leave anything out in the wild, so my normal day is go explore and loot until my pack is full, then return to town. Rinse, repeat. It’s fine, but often I am travelling further and further so my journey to and from a location is becoming long and quiet as I remove most of the enemies in my path.

However, if these Supply Caches don’t respawn while I’m active in a region, can I use these safely as Dead Drops and bases? If I set myself up like that, it’ll drastically reduce the amount to back and forth I need to do, as I don’t need to lug around medium term items into dungeons.

I’d assume I’d need to make sure I take everything I need back to town before I head to the next map, but I wonder if there is any veteran who can confirm this is a valid strategy, or if there are instances where these caches are reset while I’m in a map.

The map itself will reset after you've been away from it for a week. However, I don't think you can ever put things into containers anyways, only take them out. You could just leave an extra pack as a stash though, since they can hold unlimited weight, they just get too heavy for you to carry.

Overall, though, setting up camps in the wilderness is very risky. I tried this once and lost everything, but that was when I moved to the next map and came back a few days later. As far as I know, so long as you stay in that map region, it won't reset, but I'm not 100% sure of that.

You can easily put your items in any stash or chest or junk pile or dead body, all you have to do is press the inventory key while the container / body is open, and you can move things in the opposite direction.

I also stated that I assume moving maps would probably require returning everything to town,

Alas, regarding your unsureity, I’ll ask again for a veteran with an answer with higher accuracy.
