Backpack management
Hi everyone, im lovin the game, everything about it is enjoyable and im currently with my very first character.
I already cleared Chersonese and the Forest, i didnt like the desert so much so im currently exploring the marsh.
I have problems managing my backpack capacity, im currently using the "size 75" one, it has the most comfortable lamp placement of the ones i've found so far but i always have it at almost max capacity.. am i overpreparing for the adventures?
not having enough space forces me to use the Master Trader Armor for the 8 additional pocket capacity.. does anyone have any tips?
The player house in Monsoon is not available for some reason, do i have to join the faction to get it and be able to empty my inventory there so i can keep adventuring? i've read i should finish adventuring before joining a faction so im not sure which i should do first.

My character uses a 1H melee (currently an ice mace i found in the First Canival lair), Chakram arts and all types of magic.
Did the Philosopher, Rune Sage and Warrior Monk specializations so my character is kinda frail with a lot of Stamina and Mana but i really like the versatility.

You can get a 110 capacity backpack hidden in chersonese. I generally carry that plus a lighter backpack like a scaled backpack and drop my main backpack at the start of a dungeon, then do my fighting with the other one, making trips back as needed. I deconstruct things that aren't worth much to avoid going too heavy, and just head back to a merchant when it gets to be a lot. I also carry a master trader set to switch to for travelling (and use the extra pouch space to help carry whatever armor I would normally wear).

As for town, for the most part you need to join a faction to get the house in that area, but the city cells don't reset, so I just drop a spare backpack near a merchant and use that as my stash in towns where I don't have a house.

Sounds like you need to trim some excess supplies. One tip would be to consider what you're trying to accomplish with your next outing and carry only what you may need to accomplish it.

Are you fighting elemental enemies? Carry a couple potions to help against those elements. Do you plan on traveling a long distance? Bring some Bitter Spice Tea to help restore burnt Stamina. Are you going to need to sleep? Don't bring a tent if not. Consider whether or not you actually need that pickaxe; often times, you probably don't. Same can often be said about the fishing spear. As a rule of thumb: If you're exploring new areas, or an area you haven't been through in a while and you NEED resources, you should bring a pickaxe/fishing spear. If you already have 20 spike traps and tripwires or plenty of food, you probably don't need them. Stuff like this will help you make sure you're only carrying what you'll need.

Personally, I never bring more than 3-4 pieces of food, 2 waterskins, and 4 bandages. I'll bring a health potion or two, maybe a stamina potion. Teas are great for dealing with temperature concerns. If I'm using bows, I'll bring 2 quivers, maybe 3. I rarely bring any sort of tent other than plant tents. In fact, I try to make a habit of setting up campsites with a campfire, tent and cooking pot in areas I travel through frequently so that if I do happen to need a rest, I already have sites setup to visit! Also, I never bring alchemy kits with me. I always set them up in town. Don't bother with carrying wood; you can always obtain some while you're out and about. Don't carry excess scrap metal, if any at all.

Oh, and make sure that you convert your silver to gold/gems. They have flat trading rates and a you can turn hundreds of silver which weighs pounds into a few gold bars or gems, reducing weight dramatically.

Cool tips, thank you. I was aiming for the scaled backpack because it lets me fight without removing it and iluminate too (i've been dropping torches and using runes to light myself which is inconvenient sometimes).
My save file is kinda weird, there are many items i should have found already and just weren't there, there are some doors i cant manage to open no matter what. i just assume its not open "yet" and carry on. I keep a list with places i should revisit and things i should try to unlock if i go back to the map.
Ive also sold items i shouldnt have sold but i will deff be doing a second playthrough after this one

Thank you for the great tips!! I've been carrying with me my whole life inside the bag and i rarely justify it. I hadt even thougth about converting the silver into gold.
Actually about setting up camps in the open i have the fear the game will start to stutter if i drop too many items in the world..
