World still empty? Movement still Janky? Combat still uninspired?
I bought this on release. Like, the actual moment it was released, because I was so pumped!

I then refunded it after playing for 1hr 57 minutes, because...

-The world was nearly completely empty

-Every movement was janky, unpolished

-Combat was busted. All I had to do was sidestep each enemy a tiny bit, and I NEVER got touched. I mean never. I was 20 minutes into the game, and I had figured out how to make every enemy a total non-issue.

Has any of this been addressed? Like I said, I was SO pumped for this game, but in the end it was a tremendously cool set of ideas with garbage execution of them.

Thoughts?

I'm sorry, this game is not for you...
TheronGodspeed Mar 20, 2020 @ 8:21am
But, interestingly enough, I think it IS...or would be, if it had any sort of polish, attention to detail, and proper combat, etc...

I love the ideas behind this game. The survival, the crafting, the magic system, etc...As an avid fan of those types of games, especially indie offerings, this game SHOULD be right up my alley.

It's just so weird to me. There are amazing examples of how to do 3rd person rpg combat, movement, etc...So, why do it badly?

If you're going to put all of this time and effort and money into something, why do it badly?

Why NOT do it well?

the game is absolutly well, i had a lot fun playin this game its not easy at all, but whatever ur commentary is nonsense here. just stop posting ♥♥♥♥ about a game when u played it 2 hours
TheronGodspeed Mar 20, 2020 @ 8:52am
lol.

Apparently, it's not the GAME that's not for me, it's the fanboi community that's not for me.

Nevermind. Apparently nothing has improved. That's all I needed to know.

Thanks, dudes.

Funny that none of you two has an answer to his questions but attacking him, with nonsense like "stop posting ♥♥♥♥ about this game" or "the game isnt for you".....holy fuc.....how i hate people like you .....if you have nothing to say, simply fuc off.....

I feel the exact same about the game, me and my bro are very interested in the game, because of its idea, but an empty world and stuff the OP mentioned was reason why we wanted to wait, if this changes in the future....so OP's thoughts are things that many of us concirned in the first place.....guess no answer is an answer aswell....ty btw.....

what do u mean the world is empty ofc the world isnt like a game should be but its still fun to play the game

i got over 100 hours and i had fun thats what counts not what people says after 2 hours there are a lot of dungeons in every single world so nothing is empty it just looks a bit empty at the beginning

I love the game, but I'm no fanboy. I think it's one of those games you either get used to or you just cant. I quit after 45 minutes, but didn't refund because, like the op, I strangely liked it. I gave it a second chance and stuck with it a while and really got sucked in. It is an odd, unique sort of game. Some stick with it and some just don't like it...

Hmm.... Thoughts are that the game isn't suited to your tastes and that's fine.
Other thoughts are that it's funny to see people get angry when they post something like this and get the expected response.

As to your questions:
World has some more boss fights here and there, still relatively the same amount of stuff (or no stuff as the case were) as before.
Movements are still janky yes.
Combat is still busted according to how you perceive it to be busted yes. It's apparent you didn't fight faster more aggressive things but generally combat is the same as release.

There have been some balance changes and some gameplay changes but.... overall I don't think the things you have issues with have been addressed.. probably because the devs intended it that way.

You lucky dog you. I wish I could have refunded. This game is over priced garbage, held together by extremely blind fan boys.

I too would play again, if the world wasn't so empty. Half the time or more, you are just running. That's the game. Running from point A to point B. Maybe fight for a minute, or camp, and then it's back to running.

I just don't have time for games that do that. I'm an adult. I have a job. My free time is not unlimited. I have ♥♥♥♥ to do. I don't have time for games that make me run around a lot, in an empty world, with repetitive music.

It just doesn't make any sense.

Why make a game of adventure and discovery and include none of those things?

FILL your world.

Make it interesting. Make it dangerous. Make it compelling.

Why go to all of the trouble of making a game and make a bad one? I mean, hell, put a survival/crafting bit of gameplay on top of a DarkSouls game or Skyrim or even ToME and you'd have an awesome game! You don't have to reinvent the wheel.

Having a good idea or two is not enough. You've got to actually put them in a good game.

I had the same concerns as the OP after reading some reviews. And yet with the current sale price of $16, I really thought those issues wouldn't matter that much.

I watched some play videos, and people seemed to have much of the same issues as the OP at first and wanted to even quit when first playing, but then after getting many hours deep into the game that seemed to change. It looks as if it sort of has this rough sparse start and then gets much better as you go on. That was the theme of multiple videos I watched.

I also read about future DLC coming, and I probably won't install or play the game until that DLC is here. I'm not sure but probably I'll wait for the new DLC. I am playing other stuff right now but wanted to get this during this sale :D

Its sopose to be raw, like Gothic, lite Skyrim Rougue Lite. I am sure some of it is. And I am egaer and willing to purchase more DLC if they ever make paid dlc i dont mind.

This is like Red Dead 2 to me even tho its not as RDR2 its like a magical journy not to be rushed man grinding that coralhorn bow was awesome
