Can't turn in mushroom shield

I also had this problem. I was able to hand in the shield in a coop game, but without a reward. in my own game I still have the quest, but not the shield anymore.

there are multiple mushroom shields, have you tried getting another?

Did either of you happen to be the one to turn it in for the co-op, then proceed to try to hand it in for your singleplayer afterwards? If so, it may stem from the quest getting marked on your character's data on accident, preventing it from completing for them on their own save. :(

The quest will work in coop no matter who picks it up and turns it in. Any combination of that works. What people are doing is clicking on the thing that says they have an item for the lady instead of inquiring about things to do again.

yeah. ask for more work and it will let you give her the shield.

Yep. I was clicking "I have something for you" option 1, instead of option 2, cheers Golden_Gum.

I did the quest successfully... almost. I got the mushroom sheild and got back to town, but as I went through the town gate (loading screen) my game crashed. Once I got back on, I was still outside the gate but 98% of my backpack inventory was missing, including the mushroom shield and everything else I looted from the cave... plus all my food and my waterskin and my 300+ silver. I'm devastated... so, I went back to the cave again anyway, but everything was still looted and dead. I was still pretty early in the game, only 4 days in (in game time). I feel like I might as well restart.
