Can't join a coop game

Can any dev help me out? Trying to join an open coop game, both steam and the game name doesn't work

Friend and I had this problem and we were able to get around it by sending an invite on steam and joining that way. Although still buggy.

I bought this game to play with my friends. Now I have no friends.

So i have found out from experience that if you try to join them through steam outside of town it works after around 2 or 3 attempts when you both have lobbies started. However when you leave town it will disconnect you but just repeat the process. Lemme know if this helps you guys.

No issue, both open to friends, one just tries to join game via steam friends. Took a couple tries and got in.

Both of you open your game to friends, typing whatever name you want into the open room, and then one of you invites the other via steam friends. Just right click on the invitee after invited, and click on join game. It's worked for me, using the name join feature or trying to join without an invite does not work. Hope this helps.

This hasn't worked 100% At random when they accept my steam invite, instead of bringing them to the "loading/saving" screen to join, it just does nothing.

They cannot accept your invite, that's one of the caveats. They have to have an invite, and right click on the name and then click join game.

I just tried to join/host coop for the last 10 minutes trying to get a connection with no success.

I also never saw an option to invite to the game through the Steam Friends overlay, only join game.
The only invite option was 'invite to watch' :<

I'll try again in a few days, hopefully the online service will be back up then.

Double check your region settings are the same for both players.

I'll test it in a few hours, but I've never had an issue playing with someone in a different country before.

Have you noticed region settings blocking people from playing this game in the past?

My partner and I are on PC if that matters. I just came across a discussion where on consoles coop appears to be region locked. The last time I tried coop with my partner who is in another region would have been about a month ago.

Unfortunately, after being subscribed to this thread for a while, it seems there is no sure-fix for this issue. It is completely random and down to how the servers themselves are performing.
