Damn. I mean, I agree, but damn.
Why would you buy on epic instead of steam? to promote more drm? Steam is much better for the platform -.-
I'm not fussed about the store wars, but i will choose Steam over Epic anyday, just like i didn't buy the new metro, but i did buy division 2 on uplay rather than epic...
Word!
This isn't the kind of game you just join randomos and do silent runs with like an MMO, it's something you do with someone you generally know, probably on voice. I'm playing it with my brother... so no, it's not really an important question.
If we decided to play it and it's on multiple platforms we of fing course would communicate and get it on the same one... so don't ask if the xbox and switch versions can play.
It's kinda the same here.

Friends don't let friends buy drunk.
Nor destroy PC gaming. If your friend contributes to the massively increased expense and lessened enjoyment and freedom of a hobby you love enough, that is not a friend. I respect my friends' hobbies, since I like for them to enjoy themselves and not get price gouged. Even when I couldn't care less about it on a personal level myself, I respect it because of the reason I gave above. People were warned about buying into season passes, into buying micahtransactions, into buying into lootboxes etc... and look where they are now... they're more Everywhere than Fleetwood Mac.
Sorry for reviving this topic, but this answer definitely is pointless.
Did you figure out if the "cross-platform" multiplayer works, @Dylan (or OP)?
