Unlike some similar games though you can't be everything so you WILL have to specialize (or cheat, I guess). So you can be a rogue if you want to be, or a trapper, or a tankiish guy, or a two-handed physical monster.
Generally speaking, I prefer melee mage playstyles so being able to just blend mage and warrior like here is good enough for me.
The thing is that Alchemy isn't a skill tree. You just get an alchemist kit, and buy recipes (or figure them out yourself), and then just make your healing/buff potions and your status inflicting items with that.
So you can totally still drop lots of money on some of the skill trees that teach you various spells and weapon skills so you have active abilities you can use in combat.
There are no attributes like Strength or whatever. Power comes from whatever gear you have, whatever skills (Passive or Active) you have, and whatever temporary buffs you apply to yourself, plus the use of tools and game knowledge to get the upper hand in a fight.
That makes me even more excited because I love the idea of alchemy and setting traps and it wont even take up one of my 3 trees I can max out. Thanks :D
