2h sword melee build ?
Hey guys,

I like to play with a two handed sword, do you have any tips for skills to acquire ? I just arrived at berg, runes is a good choice ? Can I use them without a book ?
Or perhaps, rather spellblade ?

Unfortunately the only weapon skills outside of a type skill is the rage and discipline skill trees.

One in Berg and one in Monsoon.

Sword - stab
Axe - backslash
Mace - block infuse
2h sword - counter
2h axe - finisher
2h hammer - opener
Halberd - spin attack
Spear - counter.

I would rather see each weapon gaining 2+ weapon skills but the devs limited it because of a 8 hotkey limit.

I hope modding could add in unique attacks and then expand the hotkey system for more diverse combos.

You using 2handed forces you to use late game rune setup without a lexicon book, or other magic skills or unarmed skills to complement it.

Mana push, Spark, Sigils (element), Runes, Kick, Sweep Kick, Infusion skills, Infusion ranged attack, Rage skills, discipline skills.

For 2 handers, you are limited to 4-6 types of classes for attack skills.

And the last 2 you could buy passives off of them or sigils.

If you want to use all of them you would need to mod to get breakthru points.

You have tons of options, I guess you could do rune mage without the lexicon. But besides that you have.

Warrior monk, perfect strike and flash onslaught. Two powerhouse attacks that require the awesome disipline buff.

Hunter warrior has two good melee attacks, predator leap and savage strikes, both are also amazing and use enrage buff. I personally like predator leap.

Next you can do passive damage with elemental infusions with shaman wind infusion or spell blade weapon infusions. And spellblade has a 15 sec cd elemental discharge that shoots (but doesn’t consume) whatever element is applied. Works for any potion or rag infusion.

You also get a pommel counter. I would advise against getting all of these attacks at once, figure out the ones your rather go for and use a good combo but don’t get all as you might rather have other passives instead. Also I don’t know if you went with a faction but the holy mission of ellat grants a lighting infusion. Mofat in monsoon grants the blessed buff to cast the infusion.

Going warrior monk tree then taking the shaman skills for increased boon is about as solid as you can get with melee THe third skill tree you can go merc for better movement speed and lower heavy armor penalties or you can go rogue for the roll dodge breakthrough. Oh and greataxes are superior to greatswords they are jsut as fast do more damage and have way more impact damage greatswords just have a little more range.
