Lost recipes in splitscreen co-op
So me and my wife play outward together. She has the upper half and i the lower half of the splitscreen. So we think that were playing her story, not mine. Now i found some recipes and i learnd them but next time i entered the game they were all gone. Why? Also do other things dissapear due to splitscreen "bugs"?

From what I've read, it seems the 2nd player character is supposed to keep everything besides quest rewards. Hopefully, this was an unintended bug.

A temp workaround is just writing down the recipes as you get them for the second character. That's what my partner and I decided

Just have the person who learned the recipe tell you what it is, then when you create the item / food / etc you will now have the recipe yourself.

This bug still exists. Just lost all my recipes... Been playing co-op for over 4 months and it wasn't an issue until today.

If you're playing on pc, I recommend looking at the Nexusmods page for outward. There are some really good ones that are huge quality of life mods.

As mentioned, yes, mods on Nexus will allow 2nd player to get some achievements not allowed by the vanilla game... best check them out for enjoyment :) but need to read to ensure install is correct, follow line-by-line instructs.

As of June 2021 this is still a bug.
I just joined into a split screen game with my old char.
Next time I continued to play solo the char had NO recipes anymore.
I lost all of them.

they devs are aware of this bug. i had a dev reply to a post of mine when this happend to one of my characters. thankfully i noticed it and could rollback the autosaves to undo the dmg.
currently the only way to avoid it is to make sure you arent affected before turning the game off. if you are affected delete recent autosaves to undo the dmg. only have to do this during splitscreen games not online.

the dev said they know about this but they have the big problem that this bug seems totally random and they where unable to reproduce it consistently so its really hard to figure out whats actually causeing it. they know its related to local coop but thats about it.

i tryed to figure the precise cause out aswell as it doesnt happen all the time when you coop split yourself. its totally random. i couldnt find a direct cause.

if someone is able to pinpoint what precisely they did to get affected and reproduce/repeat it make sure to contact the devs with that information.
