I've seen a "Plant Tent" that is a 1 time only deployable that has wording to indicate that its better than a luxury tent (at the cost of being permanent).

It was found in a random stash of loot, so I guess there isn't anything useful to advise other than keep looking.

That said, I'd much rather take the re-deployable tent.

You can buy them in the forest town

Every tent has pros and cons. Luxury tent will make you more visible at night and increases your ambush chances.

Apparently yes, there is one in Levant that decreases Mana usage by sleeping in it. Don't quote me but I've heard that from others.

Yes there is a mage tent that gives you a bonus to magic power or something. Never used it but I've seen it for sale in Levant and sometimes from the travelling merchants. Costs around 450 silver.

There are two,That i know of, that offer more specilaized bonuses on sleep. The mages tent that confers and good bonus to mana costs. It can be consistently found at the levet Travel trader. The other is a camouflage tent that removes the need to guard your sleep and adds a stealth buff along with 10% stamina reduction. This one was harder to find. It didn't appear at the berg trader untill i found it out in the wilds. I Don't remember where i got it but i don't think it was a fixed spot either way.

ALSO. Save your self the huge headache that is this game's storage capacity and Get your self Mefino's Trade Backpack. There is a wiki where you can look for this kind of stuff, its Still being updated but is a great starting point.

Will admit I haven't messed too much with magic, nor have I found that many tents, but isn't part of the issue here just that sleeping itself is a debuff for magic users?

Shouldn't you likely just not rest as much, or make a potion or meal to deal with it?
Drink seaweed tea to regain burnt magicka when you wake up. Eat pungent paste to regain burnt hp/stam when you otherwise would need to sleep.

I wish mages could become undeads or vampires if you don't sleep for like 10 days.

This game has a huge amount of crazy fantasy creatures, so why not vampires? Maybe in the DLC...

It depends on how much mana you have. In combat it is almost allways a death sentence to try and pop a potion, Thats where mana cost comes in to save you if you don't have alot of it. This game is strange in that the more mana you have the less mage esk gear you want. This goes agisn't normal class fantasy which is a real bummer. I was roleplaying a mage so i dumped 10+ into my mana not realizing this. Now i have a character that is fantastic at wearing medium armor that gives bonuses to stamina use lol.
