Where are the Manticores?

A merchant in Berg claims manticore population is on the rise, mentions a royal one too. I assumed he meant in the forest zone, but I've never seen one there. Are they in the desert? That's the only zone I haven't explored much of.

I killed a manticore yesterday, I found it in the forest, unfortunately I can't remember the exact point but it was night. it is very large and bright so you can easily notice it, if you are looking for it be careful because it is very strong.

Unfortunately, I cannot give you the exact point, however, it was night.
I can tell you that he drop'd me the starchild claymore, a really beautiful 2h sword! 16 damage + 38 lightning, 52 impact.
So I'd say it's worth looking for :)

Without looking at that map it's in the bottom south east region, I think. It's an unmarked cave, Royal Manticore cave, and it has a stronger blue Manticore guarding the entrance (Royal Manticore?) Just be careful if you do find it because I was unprepared when I found it by chance. It killed me and when I came back it was gone. I looked all over and never found it lol. I assume it can respawn but I haven't been back to check yet.

Also in that same cave (don't read if you don't want to be spoiled by an awesome item find) there's an 85 capacity unique backpack with -10% stamina use. bring a large emerald to get through the Trog gate to get it.

Did this yesterday, it's so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hard to get info on this game right now. It's actually kind of cool because it heightens the exploration aspect, just a drag because travel is so slow.

It's not south of the hives. It's actually to the west. Here is a video that shows the location in the first like 2 minutes.

Thanks! So it's southWEST then, near the edge of the map. I will bring glorious battle to these beasts.

Yeah my bad, I'm directionally challenged lol. I just came back myself and it looks like the Royal Manticore does not respawn, which makes sense I guess since he drops a unique weapon. I assume the disappearing enemies upon death is a bug (so far it's happened with the Royal Manticore and a world Chersonese Wendigo).

There is only one Royal Manticore in the whole game, you get an achievment after killing it, it doesn't respawn, it has the starchild claymore...in short:D
Yeah, that could be a problem for people playing for the first time but playing for the second time should be a lot easier because you can get everything.

I hope they fix most of these bugs
