Where can I find the Chimera Pistol?

I never heard about this pistol. I only know bone and obsidian for crafted pistols. How did you find out about it?

I prefer the obsidian pistol myself. Love the fire damage and it 1 shots most trash mobs with others getting a DoT death.

Load it with Shatter Bullet and enjoy the show. DoT death in like 10 seconds for most normal mobs.

Would be perfect for a blood bullet build since both the life leach load and shot do corruption damage, just need to find the darn thing ...

Don't need it though when you can already one shot everything in the game if you have patience for the harder mobs. Even Light Mender can be one shot, as I just did it last night. Get some bleeding going then waited it out, as an example.

Obsidian Pistol by that logic is the best pistol. Always a one shot kill.

Did some digging in the game files. The "Chimera" Pistol is actually called "Manticore" Pistol. If true then it may have to be crafted, but I can't find a recipe for it, even in the unused assets. It's definitely in the game though as you can spawn it in and use it (with the dev menu).

I've tried a lot of combinations with the flintlock and but none make the Chimera (also with the help of the dev menu). How to actually obtain it is still a mystery.

Manticore is a chimera.
But there could be a "real" chimera in game and reading through wiki on what a chimera is i was able to find where it was living.
Soooo we are looking for a place in outward that is: rocky, possibly on mountain possibly in open world(not dungeon) and burning gasses are comming out of the ground.

Chimera ment an Omen of Storms, Shipwrecks aswell as Errupting Volcanos

There's a Chimera in the Hallowed Forest somewhere but I don't remember where... it's kind of a sand-ish area.
There's another one in between the boat wrecks in the desert. Next to the Captain's Cabin.

Well judging by the name of that pistol, perhaps it drops from Chimeras?

Must be a very rare drop than. I have killed a lot of them, in my game and in a game of one friend. Even two times the "Alpha" in the forrest. But VonBardok was talking about a "real chimera", so this is why i asked.

I have killed about 12 manticores aswell as 2 royal manticores and still no pistol hmmmm meyby im just unlucky or its really just dropping from a special mob
