What does Reveal Souls do?

It Reveals souls. Sometimes when you find a dead body (or make one) it can have a soul lingering around it. With Reveal Souls you will see it as a blue floating orb and than you can A-use spark and restore a good chunk of mana or B-use Conjure on it and you will get a ghost companion for 280sec,

You use it on deceased human(?) enemies to create a blue orb souls, it doesn't do anything on it's own, but it can be combined with other spells, such as conjuration, to create different effects like conjuring a ghost companion.

Okay, cool, so does it work on skeletons too? Or just regular dead bodies that can be looted, i.e. Adventurer's Corpse, etc.. ?

Both.You can find souls on already dead skeletons/adventurors and human mobs like bandits (but only sometimes like 1/3 per bandit). Not sure if skeleton mobs leave behind souls.
Edit: I once found a soul in a big pile of old bones.

I don't mean skeleton mobs I mean the random ones you find lying about. Can I cast on a skeleton on the ground as well?

Yes but remember it's not a 100% chance to get one, I've had souls from literally just a Skull on a wall. As long as remains are humans i think you can drop souls (not 100% of the time tho)

so what is this about it making your spells more powerful when the npc is talking about it, does that not happen?

I don't recall it maybe it can be used in combo with something ? So far all I use it for is extra mana from corpses and bone piles and such and remember you need enough mana to use spark after to consume the soul

how much mana are you getting per use? I made the mistake of picking that spell when I only have 20 mana max which is translating into 10 mana after resting. So I basically have just enough to use it and spark. It is only putting me at 10/12 mana after I used it.

I did not check exactly how much it gives but it gives more than it takes and if you get items that reduce mana costs it will get better ! (I found a hat for that but you can have different parts + weapons that reduce it and consumables)
