As an example, the best weapon in the early in my opinion is the mushroom glaive because it poisons when you hit someone, not 100% poison but it works.
Imagine the glavie as a superioty weapon, 1vs1 no one should beat you. Especially when you unlock the Fang weapons from the blacksmith
The spear is the same but different function
The axe and 2handed sword...well, you need to take a few hits if you are using those.
The point is that every weapon needs to be practiced with...and made specific fast keys.
So in reality you will probably use 3 weapons at all times, 1 ranged, 1 close range and other as a long weapon/high damage....or you will use spells or traps, depends on you
I have a video of when i attack my first bandit camp and it's funny and terible at the same time but you can make an idea of how the different weapons function, it will take maybe another 30 min for it to process.

Tip #2: spears aren't good.
Glaive has good strong attack with a backstep, you can dodge a lot of attacks this way while damaging your enemies at the same time. The downside is low damage and very low impact damage. Spear is similar to glaive, but simple strong attack is long thrust instear of backstep thrust. The difference is you have to use strong attack and then dodge everything opponent throws at you, exhausting your stamina in the process.
Heavy mace is really good for knocking enemies, but it's too slow fo my liking and its simple strong attack has really short range.
Greataxe has somewhat lower impact damage, but strong attack consists of two hits instead, so you have better chances to stagger your opponent. Also, axe weapon skill deals extra damage against knocked down units.
Stamina management is the major downside of TH weapons. Consider carrying berries and plenty of waterskins in your inventory. Also, learn how to dodge without.. well.. dodging. You can sprint out attack range, and this helps with stamina management ALOT.
Glaive has the easiest gameplay since you can abuse backstep. With mace/axe you should patiently wait for the opening. Charge attack is the best one, since it's almost always a single strike with very long recovery. TH weapons deal huge amounst of impact damage, you should try to utilize this whenever it's possible. Bear in mind, not all opponents are staggered when their stamina bar reaches 50% (*cough* conflux chamber *cough*).
glaive? dont think i found any since atm im using a helbarts
erm hello?
I prefer a dagger and gun build and a sword like the Crystal Bland. It costs upwards of 1375 silver and a ton of walking to get but does a good job of confusing/ hexing for opportunity stab abuse.
Rune magic is the most unbalanced becuase of the weak ai. Red and green makes a trap that you can kite mobs into. I haven't done much else with runes only my alt character.
someone told me a glaive was a good weapon dispite it having low impact.. but they never told me a example of a early glaive you can get in the fang weapon list.. what are glaive weapons? or is a helbrt the glaive weapon they talked about
i know the diffrance, was wodnering where i can get one.. or what it would be under i nthe fang set.. or dose that bandit boss near the starting city has one?
yes i do >_> i mean who dosent.. i mean is it classed under tridant, helvert and so on and so forth
The key is to get stamina buffs and or stamina gear. You should absolutely run to the warrior monk trainer in Monsoon for the 40 stamina and the wild hunter trainer for 40 health. It will help a lot. Use gabery jam and water for stamina regen and sleep in luxury tent for the stamina cost reduction.
How to fight:
1v1 humans, skeletons, spirits - just keep slashing, you will stunlock it and it will die.
1v1 dog - hit it from max range and stay slightly to the side of it, no directly in front. It will jump forward and you'll wreck it.
1v1 mantis, shrimp - if you hit it 2 times from max range you can stunlock it. You can also run sideways and dodge a hit and backstab it and stunlock to death.
1v1 horrors, immaculates, taunosaurs and similar enemies - this is tougher. Be patient and don't be greedy. Attack from max range, then immediately get out of there, don't wait. Get a strike or 2 in the back and get out again. The 3rd time you can get ballsy and try to stunlock it but watch your stamina and health or it will wreck you.
multiple humans - land 1-2 attacks from max range and roll out, very simple. You will lose some health if you try to spam them to death which is very viable. Just be ready to burn a health pot to recover after the fight.
multiple beasts - keep them all in front of you and slash from max range. run sideways or dodge roll as necessary to keep some distance.
Raza the conqueror or whatever he's called - this guy dodge rolls asap. So just chip him away with poison rag, bleeds from max distance or after his attacks. Again don't be greedy.
ahh, you said before glaive weapon.. i cant tell if you was talking about a spear or helberd
is monsoon in berg? since i havent raveled to other areas
I still say get a greataxe though as you can put enemies on the ground far easier if the combo attack doesn't kill them outright.
