It's mostly good if you want to combine it with a specific off-hand, and no off-hand weapon requires unsheathing to be used, or you want to run around holding a specific 2 handed weapon for its looks and buffs.
Curently in the game Light mender lexicon is either nerfed or bugged and it only gives 5%' so its only plus is that 5%.
If you combine it with that sabre that you can get from blade dancers, you will get total of 15% reduction vs staff that can reduce up to 20%.
Also rune magic can be OP, so if you don't want to rolfstomp all the enemies in the game you might consider putting on some limitation on yourself.
