Purifier quest

I went to Monsoon for skill training and got saddled with a main story quest called Purifier where I've got to find some missing missionaries. I know some quests expire without telling you so I'm concerned about getting this one done.

Anyone where where those dumb missionaries are?

Nevermind, found them! There's a camp site if you just follow the road... You need to examine a corpse semi-hidden behind a rock. I had missed the corpse the first time.

Just one, the quest log told me to go back to town... But I didn't, I went into the big tree to the West, and the log updated to explore the dungeon. So there's that.

I found only one dead guy near the big tree and the Dead Roots cave. When I click on him, the text says that he is dead and I could "Only avenge him" or something. The quest didnt get updated and still says to find the white clad missionaries on the path. I then went into the Dead Roots dungeon and killed everyone, but the quest did not update. Also, I was not able to clear the entire dungeon as a key was missing (I saw in another post that you have to read 4 books in the dungeon to get the key but the books dont appear in my game, so I think I need to update the quest first to actually progress here).

Can anyone tell me if there is more than one guy I have to find in the marshes first and if yes, where can I find them? Or is this quest bugged and it should have updated when I found the first one?

I only ever found one guy in the marshes. I then went onto dead roots and the moment I entered, the quest updated automatically. Then I killed everyone inside, read all the books, and reported back.

I found the way to complete it. You need to check the bodies first and speak with one of the trainers at Monsoon. From there you check the cave and completes. The ending is very interesting.

You only need to find the one by the roadside camp. Then go to the dungeon and read the journals around. There are... Four or five journals IIRC.

The camp will NOT show up if you haven't finished the Looking to the Future quest (picked a faction). It simply won't be there. It sticks out like a sore thumb after you've finished that quest.

Can anyone post a screenshot of the map showing the location of the camp please?? I must be blind, I´ve run up and down the pilgrim road with no luck at all

If you're still having trouble make sure you talk to Alemmon. Hes the Chakram trainer located in Monsoon. He will explain what happend and open the next part of the quest line.

just have done this "side-quest" and it isn't really hard to figure out if you just read the lines, the quest / dungeon isn't hard to do. But be prepared if you find the 2 secrets there, but you'll get a nice tent out of it and a chest (or more)

Pick the second option to talk to him, He is an "optional" person to talk to. But there is another, but you'll have to find that for yourself it's part of the secret. The trainer with the chakram can tell you more about it if you talked to mofat first (where you can buy the player house).

To be fair, just read the lines. It says go west from the camp (the guy that you found dead) See a big dead tree on top of the hill and bam you go inside and the rest is up to you what you do.

Did you really really get all the books? trust me, there is more than that to the books. Specially a part of the cave. Not gonna spoil to much, but just revisit it and look for it. Maybe you have found it the 2 secrets going on in there.

I find it absurd that I can get quests in this game, they expire, and I have no idea! I have Purifier in my "Completed Quests". No recollection of getting this and no recollection of it's failure. Lame!
