Any magical self buffs exist?

Just wondering since I saved up and did Spell blade, and wanted to do like weapon enchants and such. (went with 40 mana + the 15) Anyone know if there are such a thing as self armor buffing spells and the like and how I would go about that? Does it rely on the rune system or is even a spellblade type thing possible?

From what I've heard, runic magic has armor/impact/elemental resistance buffs and heal buffs. There are people that will teach you elemental boons too.

I wanted a REAL Spellsword user so I skipped out Spellblade for now. However, if you go Northeast of starter map there is a Wind Cabal ther and inside one of the towers there is a Wind Trainer who teaches you some basic skills. His Break Through skills however give a 30%increase to self boons and he has a skill that increases stats for a minute. Combine this with Varnishes and Boons and BAM instant Badass w/ any weapon. The trick is to go from trainer to trainer to find people who teach boon spells. Cold boon near Awaken Stone in mountain. Decay Boon from the Immaculate cave north of said mountain. Hot Boon from tailor in desert. Lighting boon in marshes. Also, instant random boon from Wind Trainer himself
