Is the half plate armor worth buying?

In my opinion, no, just craft the blue sand armor because at the point you can afford it seems a little weak and you have to buy some weapons. It's a straight up upgrade to the half plate amor

If you save your money and save the sailor so you don't pay the debt....it can be worth it if you buy at the very begining.

the blue sand armor takes quite a while to make, I honestly am 12 hours in and only have the helmet, but I have been doing other things anyway.

I believe it's in the Hallowed Marsh map (don't quote me though).

You can find blue sand along the beaches of the starting zone, but you can only find it at night. I hope that helps.

There's a cave near the beach where you find the injured guy east of Cierzo. In the day the cave is flooded, but after 1 am the water recedes and there's three blue sand nodes. After collecting the blue sand from it sleep for 3 or more days and come back at night.
