Ice Bolt?
I know you can learn the Ice Circle in Monsoon, but who teaches you the spell that you use in the circle, presumably to shoot ice bolts?

Im pretty sure that is what spark turns into when cast from in the circle but not for sure.

I guess I'll have to give it a try later, I'm 600 silver short of learning that, although I'm not sure Ice Bolt is worth learning, other than the fact that Cold Stones can be made in bulk (if your lucky enough to get Blue Sand).

I was kind of hoping there were multiple spells though. Like fire has Spark and Flamethrower, so I assumed there would be like Chill and Cold Breath, or something.

Well spark changes depending on the circle you cast it in. Fire sigil its a fire ball. Wind sigil its a aoe electric explosion. Spells of other elements may change in your ice sigil just have to try them out.

Hallowed Marsh is where monson is. runic spells are supposibly good but havent tried them yet. i got wind magic so now im looking for all the basic magic spells to see all the combinations. Wind sigil plus spark wrecks.

I didn't even know there was a Wind Sigil. I learned the basic wind stuff, but didn't learn it all, I haven't even tried the buff that I got.

Runic magic can fire balls of electricity, but I think the Sigil magic is stronger (although, that might be because I'm wearing a hat that amplifies my fire damage). Even if you don't dump all of your points into it, Runic casting is really useful.

There's a pretty good defense spell, a healing spell, a magical land mine (that I haven't tried yet), weapon summoning, and a light spell that works better than the lanterns (you actually have to have the light spell active to fire the lightning balls).

I'll have to experiment more, I wasn't aware that there were attack spells beyond Runic Magic, and the Fire/Ice stuff.

The Trainer is in the first area near the cabal of wind toetm in a giant tower. hes got useful skills but becareful you can either take the the wind weapon buff or the wind sigil not both. p.s. the wind sigil doesnt take a stone.

I can confirm that spark does not transform into an ice bolt when cast in an Ice Circle. What spells does the circle actually effect?

Yeah just found that out myself. In Ice sigil the wind push spell turns into a distance ice bolt and the emporale armor stuff turns into a frontal aoe. under wind sigil spark is a aoe and wind puch is a long range damage spell. fire sigil turns spar into a fire ball and i havent tested the armor spell yet cause mana stones are annoying to find right now.

Where do you learn the ice circle?

Monsoon, from the scholar guy, but to do so, you have to spend a Breakthrough Point (you learn a Passive Skill that gives Mana Regeneration, though), and you have to give up a Passive Skill that increases your Fire Damage (since it's placed directly next to it on the skill tree).

It's probably worth it though, because you can stack all three elemental circles, and they all go off with one spell cast, although most of the time it's an AoE around the circle.

If you are looking for an ice bolt type of spell, not just tied to the sigil, then you can get the "Cool" boon from one of the mages at the Leyline, and both "Infuse Frost" and "Elemental Discharge" from the Spellblade trainer in Cierzo. It has a 10s cooldown, but it doesn't require a reagent and will at least make you more mobile. Plus, Infuse Frost looks cool.

If you intend to use Sigil of Ice, then Elemental Discharge can be used to pull things to your sigil without requiring Rune Sage or another form of pulling.

I don't know if it's intended or not, but so far I've not seen a frost based Elemental Discharge apply Slow to an enemy.

Also, for anyone not aware, the Tired and Very Tired debuffs give passive mana regen. It's not necessary to take Leyline Connection if you really don't want to, but obviously you have to if you want Ice Sigil.
