chakram looks pretty awesome though - shooting out blades!
But the dmg depends on the chakram you are holding
If you started getting the Fire Sigil, It might be better (for efficiency) to get the Ice Rune or the Fire Mastery on the Chakram tree so that skill will not be wasted
For rune skills, Rune Trap can be used for kiting (main skill hit and run) then Lantern Lightning on the advanced rune skill for attack (much faster CD than spark). Casting a rune takes 1.5 sec then casting another to create an effect takes a total of 3 seconds.
If you have the option to select the passive skill that allows you to cast runes without lexicons freeing your hands for other spell components or weapons. I suggest to use the 1000 silver staff for 20% mana reduction.
My Mana started at 80, which added another 40 for the passive, then having 70% mana reduction making it 4 or 3 per rune casting... considering you have potions and foods for your mana regeneration... you can keep luring them to your rune traps for DAYS!! without any problem. The downside is it gets boring to kill them that way
Not being able to hold my book while using my staff is lame, but my spells last well longer, like the lantern spell lasts like 8 minutes, instead of 4 minutes, and the Protection spell is significantly better. Not being able to use my staff for mana reduction most of the time might suck, but I plan on relying more on the Sigil Spells anyway (I haven't tried Runic Lightning, though I'm aware of it), and I have so many mana potions that it shouldn't matter too much.
