- You can sleep to regain mana, but this will reduce your maximum mana, but this reduce has a cap. For me my maximum mana doesnt fall below 100 (the maximum mana then will regenerate very slowly)
so your max mana doesn't go below 100, but what is your actual max mana? mine is only 80 right now and I'm trying to determine how much I'll lose when I sleep
You lose a decent amount per hour rested but it caps at half your true maximum.
Eating a regular diet of fish is probably a better bet.
I got the mana regen skill, and never ate fish or turnips again. I think I used 2 mana potions over the rest of the storyline. I never did get the hang of chakrams. Before I got the ritual magic sorted, I was using Flamethrower and a Brutal axe.
I chose the merc tree in Levant (for pistol skills and sprint bonuses) the ritual magic tree (for the runes and abilities therof), and the chakram tree (because I though they'd be more useful, and the mana regen).
This game DOES have a mechanics if which skill trees to go for....
Aside from the obvious answer of potions and food, Plant tents are a great efficient way to safely recover hp/mana. Also you get a fancy purple Mage-tent from the story(and I think vendors?) that buffs your mana regen.
