I got one by killing some big monster in the first area (Before moving to meet the faction etc) of the game. Probable some kind of rare monster

if you travel through the for in chersonese there is a monster in between the cabal wind tower and ancient ruins, has glowy slug eyes. scourge i believe, cant miss it

The wind tower in the desert has one of the big monsters. You can also find one in The Slide cave near the old ships in the desert, but you need a key to get to it. I think the only way to get the key is via the Levant quest line.

The end of the Levant chain also has you fight them and will net you a couple.

The Wind Temple (south-west of Berg) in the forest is loaded with those horrors. And they are easy to kill in there because the temple has a particular mechanic that you should use to kill them.

There are 4 or 5 Horrors in that dungeon, and even if you dont want to use the Dungeon mechanic to kill them, you can still take them out pretty easily with traps. Each one drops one Horror Chitin.

Also, there is something else in that Dungeon:
There is a unique epic halberd in that dungeon that you can get when killing all the horrors. Even if you dont use halberds, get it, as it sells for ~700s.

After I discovered that dungeon, it took me ~2h to clear it (with sleeping and one trip back to Berg to stock up on traps), but tadaa, my new shiny horror bow is awesome :)
