Backpacks dissapearing in coop?

Is it supposed to happen when you're a guest in someones game, you both drop your packs and are killed we woke up and he got his bag off the floor but i didnt get mine?

should be in the vicinity as well. you can't probably tell exactly where you respawn but what was the defeat scenario, region and an idea of where you respawned? Also, did you respawn in the same zone or were you in a dungeon and the defeat moved you outside? Or something similar.

I've had this happen to my friend and I when I was hosting. The first time he had his pack and I did not have mine, but I could see the bag icon on the compass to locate it easily.

The second time we both re-spawned a much farther distance and neither of us had a bag icon leading us to wonder if they had been destroyed, but when we returned to the location, the bags were still on the ground where they had been dropped.

It seems to be situational to the defeat scenario.

When i host and me and my friend drop bags then die, my bag will always be returned to town if thats where we are dropped off. His will be where he dropped it.
I always figured it was because one person saves you, that one person can only carry one bag and therefor takes the Hosts bag.

We was both outside, killed by 2 bandits then spawned in the woods. Then we have now got taken slaves in the fortress in the starter map, he kept all his gear, dropped his bag, i picked it up and it turned into my backpack and deleted his. Whats going on... if we keep losing our backpack there's no point playing keep losing all our money and time

My friend and I have had a backpack that you follow the marker and nothing is there or the backpack marker ends up way outside of the boundry of the overworld. All we do is just save scum a couple of saves back and are good to go.

this has happened to me before aswell, the reason the backpack isnt with you or on your compass is because you must have been in a different area. go back to the area, go threw the door or whatever (if its a dungeon or something) and you should find that it reapears on your compass as you finish loading in

for example i was killed in a dungeon and was "saved" and was dragged out the dungeon in the wilderness somewhere. i saw my backpack wasnt with me tho so went back in the dungeon and got my backpack

Me an my friend are having the issue. Enmerkar Forest, we were doing sigil an ran through the teleport's there and we had died. We were saved and brought to the south of the bee hives and I got my backpack my friends backpack was sent way out somewhere else off the map.

We had gotten a lucky death the first time. Spawned by a campfire with a note & drinks. However our backpacks werent on us. His was placed atop himself and mine pointed south on the compass, kept going south and hit the map border. Figured maybe try dieing to see if it'll respawn by us. His backpack was still attached to him just fine. We had 3 hive deaths & 1 in Berg. His backpack was fine everytime, mine still kept pointing out of reach, in every instance it'd point to an impossible location.

As you can imagine.. this is REALLY bad to have happen. This has happened 3 times now and the 3rd time it was to me, with my backpack appearing no where reachable. First two times they didnt spawn to far away from us.

Edit: Also went back to singleplayer myself & died to see if anything would happen. Nope, went back to his world and.. the icon to my backpack was now missing. So it feels like it just completely vanished from the world, not out of bounds but completely deleted. I hope it can be fixed soon cause.. backpacks are a core piece of this game afterall and with them randomly vanishing, it kind of makes this game unplayable..

I dk what's the problem here but one thing I know is that I dropped my backpack before a fight at the hanging bridge on the conflux mountain. I died got dragged into the mana lair (lucky me) and as u guys said there will also backpack icon someone but no. After I came out,i went back to the bridge where I dropped my backpack its just there safew and sound. Tip from me here is to remember where u backpack is before dying.
