You mean the checkpoints to save your progression and the game's data? Survival games don't work like that.

...\Steam\steamapps\common\Outward\SaveGames\

Directly in the InGame directory.

Strong agree.

Bought two DLCs today. The game did not see the old saves. Created a new character. The new save did not appear in the save folder. Where can I find saves now?

Regular game saves are not compatible without changing a few things and the DE saves are located in the DE folder which is Outward/Outward_Defed

Thank you.
What kind of things/incompatibilities are you talking about?
Is it safer to start a new game?

DE gives something other than better graphics?
Because without DLC it was written that my game became DE. And in the graphics settings appeared "extremely high" graphics settings.

It is very strange that Outward_Defed is installed in the Outward folder and has a size almost the same as Outward, perhaps the difference is just in the presence of DLC. Does the game need original game files? They take up a lot of space and visually duplicate the game...

I can't remember exactly, I think someone said something about having to change file extensions. There's a mod that converts old saves into DE ones at the click of a button though.

It's slight changes to the graphics and it makes world changes as well. Adding items from the DLCs into the base game locations for example.

It's because it downloads the game a second time for the DE, everything in the Defed folder is just Outward again with the DE changes. It should have just released as a second game like others have done but they instead made it work like a DLC to the base game. As far as deleting the old files, IDK. I assume it would detect them missing and want you to download them again but I don't know for certain as I haven't tried it.

Understandable thanks. I'll look for the right mod.

On the other hand... DLC items will be added to the main world, but I've already cleared half the world. Does this mean that there will be no new items or that it makes sense to search the map again... In any case, it looks like a need to start a new game...

It's interesting that the changes in the graphics were available to me before buying the DLC...

Perhaps the DE installation path is just a mistake of the developers. Since I started downloading DE while I was playing the original game. Which most likely means that they are independent and can be run separately.
