Runic Spell Combos
So I just unlocked Runic Spellcasting in Berg. I made a list of known Rune Combos.

4 Runes: Dez (Blue), Shim (Red), Fal (Green), Egoth (Purple)
* Arcane Syntax Required
? Unconfirmed

Runes
Effect
Runic Prefix
Blue, Purple
Runic Protection (this gave impact resistance and physical protection)
Increases values and adds elemental resistance
Purple, Blue
*Runic Healing (this gave 2hp/sec healing Buff, but consumes Runic Protection)
(??)
Red, Green
Runic Trap (makes a Landmine)
?? (trap now glows. perhaps larger effect?)
Red, Red
*Runic Detonation (Detonates your Runic Trap)
??
Red, Purple
Runic Blade (Creates a 1h Sword that Deals Elemental Damage)
Blade now emits light and deals lightning damage
Red, Purple
*Greater Runic Blade (creates a 2h sword)
Now deals Decay Damage
Green, Blue
Runic Lantern (Provides Bright Light, notes that it can be combined further)
Brighter?
Green, Red
*Runic Lightning (fires a Ball of Energy, Requires Runic Lantern Active)
?? (may have a larger blast radius/damage.)

One important note that i just discovered after testing all this out: Infusion skills (from the Spellblade Magic) DO NOT stack with the bonus Elements added by Runic Prefix (I.E. the Lightning damage on the 1h Runic Blade) and replace the listed buff that grants the bonus elemental damage. the other ability from Spellblade (the one that fires an elemental orb based on your infused element) DOES work with the Lightning/Decay from Runic Prefix. so keep this in mind when making a build. (you're basically choosing between having 3 elements or 1 element and not needing a lexicon.)

i'll update the list if anyone adds anything. my save corrupted, so I can't verify anything posted. just making a list so I know for my next playthrough. T_T

Edit*: new character made it back to the trainer and relearned everything. took Prefix this time instead of the one that allows you to cast without a lexicon.

You right I was tired when I posted that, if you do the Runic Protection spell and then do it backwards (Egoth>Dez) It full heals and gives a 2hp per sec buff.

It might be more. I was casting at full hp and was just going off the detail of the buff
Argent Rain Mar 28, 2019 @ 6:07am
Same here. It fills about 1/4th of my health

thanks for posting the chart, couldn't figure out rune healing or lightning ball

the healing rune instantly heals a chunk of hp as well as providing the regen buff for a few seconds
Rhunin Mar 29, 2019 @ 8:53pm
it heals 50 hp each time i use it and gives 2hp/sec for 10 sec

I have the prefix upgrade btw, that might effect it

this is purely the way i do it but it was super quick to pick up even with me being colorblind so it might help some of you guys

set 1 to Shim (the 8 looking one)
set 2 to Egoth (the H looking one)
set 3 to Fal (the T looking one)
set 4 to Dez (the O looking one)

to summon sword do ------------- 1 then 2
to summon lantern do ------------ 3 then 4
to place mine do ------------------- 1 then 3
to cast buff do ----------------------- 4 then 2

to upgrade sword to 2-hander --- 1 then 2
to shoot lightning from lantern --- 3 then 1
to detonate the placed mine ----- 1 then 1
to turn buff into heal ---------------- 2 then 4

The Light Mender's Lexicon also has an effect on the efficiency of runic spells.

I've been told it actually effects all spells, but that is probably a bug

Anybody else holding the lexicon weird? I feel like I’m the only one with this bug. Im holding it with the pages facing down

When looking at my character info, I can see my magic efficiency goes up by 15% with that equipped, even though it doesn't list it in the description.
This is a very strong reason why I'd encourage people to go with the enhanced runes instead of no-lexicon option, if you have that item or intend to get it. I almost never put it away.

I agree, I always have my lexicon in hand and I do enjoy the look of a one handed sword and book combo along with some plate armor, somewhat regal. I also very much prefer the extra effects over the "convenience" of not needing a lexicon.

Mine holds correctly, but I've read about someone on console with the same issue.

the option to use the magic wihtout the lexicon is for adventurers who use shields or two handed weapons, its purely an augment to their class not the source of its power

there are many other ways to reduce your mana cost so if it is burdensome to swap in combat then sometimes it is easier to just not have to worry about the book at all
Argent Rain Apr 1, 2019 @ 11:24pm
That’s a shame. I like the aesthetic of holding a “spell book” while casting, but this bug keeps me from actually holding the book. Oh well lol

Does anyone know what type of damage Runic Mine does? Is it ethereal?
Moine Apr 3, 2019 @ 12:34pm
either Ethereal or Lightning, as it wrecks ghosts. (which are weak to both)

definitely *not* decay, as the enemies that are immune to it still take damage from the mines.
