Vendavel Fortress (Kind of a spoiler?)

So I actually managed to kill pretty much everyone in Vendavel Fortress (not the wizard up the elevator) after my capture, but no one inside actually has the key to get out. Believe me getting to this point was not easy and took a long friggin time. My only option was to jump down the hole, after doing which, I lost my backpack. So I kill waves of enemies, a boss enemy, finally get my backpack back, but since no one has a key to get out I have to jump in the hole and lose my backpack. Why. I worked SO hard to get my stuff back and to kill this boss guy I thought might have a key, but nope. All my stuff except my equipped and pocketed items gone. Is that just not way too mean for no reason?

it is kinda mean yes , this whole zone is really sketchy but my packpack was waiting for me infront of the fortress i just had to collect it.

Really? Where in front? I looked and it wasn't anywhere in sight.

I got killed by a shrimp on the beach after i went down the hole because there weren't any other options.It was next to me in town when I respawned.

Also, good advice, the most recent pack you wore is visible on the compass. It just doesn't show distance.

Don't see anything on the compass, must just be gone. Was this even supposed to happen?

You have to pull the correct ring hanging down. The 10 o'clock one from where you entered the room opened it for me (third try).

When they caught me I jumped down a hole and escaped but was without gear and i look at my compass and am like oh its pointing to my backpack! which is in the fortress... ♥♥♥♥... annnd im hungry and thirsty... start looking for food... get jumped by two guys and they knock me out and take me back to the fortress right back in the cell i was in... Wahooo i can get my stuff! So the guard says i can go work for the chef which gave me access to the back room where my backpack was. I got my gear, walked up to the guard wearing all of it he didnt seem to mind. I gave him 30 silver and he snuck me out the front door.

This is the type of experience i was looking for. Sadly it was ruined because right after that I had to restart the game due to a graphical bug and when i logged back in half my ♥♥♥♥ was missing. It seems i have a bug where i randomly lose ♥♥♥♥ in my backpack when i save and log out... it has been reported everywhere i can find.

i went to fight the kazite warlord and closed the door behind me and now my backpack is stuck in the room and I cant find a key

so has anyone who went down "the hole" in the Vendavel Fortress found their backpack? is it supposed to take your bag or is it just bugged?

I managed to find my backpack outside on the beach near a big rock on the left when you're facing the door. However, I didn't find any of my equipped items (full blue sand set and thorn claymore). I'm going back inside, they better have it :p

same. but I jumped without a backpack, and it also disappeared from the compass, it is not near the fortress or inside, so many things and hours are lost...

... oh. I jumped down the hole and lost my backpack too but maybe it is still on the beach???
Wasn't able to look around too much as I woke up since there was that shrimp.

Mb spoilers!! I walked through one of the doors and walked up the swirling stairs, then I went to the hall where I pulled the lever and fell down, then I fought with hobos in the dungeon and almost got out but was chopped off from poisoning. But Gem carried me to the mountain, after which I woke up and my backpack lay nearby!

Ok I got all my stuff back. Just go back in, tell the dude in the room that you need a place to rest. Then when you're in prison, just ask to move to the kitchen and your stuff will be at the end of the corridor, in the room on your left.

I foolishly went into the fortress and talked to the first guy sitting inside. He insisted i stay... I mean really insisted. He and his friends threw me down the hole and i found myself on the beach. I noticed though that the compass had an image of my backpack so I ran around the mountain and headed straight for it. I thought it would be inside but it was just sitting next to the big rock near the gate.

Does anyone know what's down the hole in the dungeon? I defeated everyone and that's the last thing I haven't checked but I got a lot on me that I dont want to lose.
