yes i noticed vanishing items to... very annoying, but for me the cizero Quest killed the Game for me, i had plenty days left to do that quest, but i just followed annother quest to follow the city ruler, and for that the side quest fliped to finish and became a major quest u can change back.. lol...
When Cizero gets destroyed early on in a playthrough can really deminish the fun, eapecially when you don't feel like you had the chance to change anything...
Well if they have to work on the foundation so be it. Because if they don't even the most dedicated fan will stop playing. I had a char once that I build specifically around the Skycrown mace. At some point it disappeared from my backpack. After that i stopped playing for a while.
Same thing with the timed quests as you discribed. It's a nice idea but if it doesn't work properly it turns anyway the players rather then be a motivation to do quest the moment you get them.
- Items expired (such as food rotting over time. If you travel from a region to another, at least 3 days pass which often leads to food rotting away)
- Items were taken out of your backpack as a result of a defeat scenario (happens more with defeat scenarios related to bandits, which take items marked as valuable, like gems for instance)
- Item was a duplicate using co-op save and reload, which means two versions of the same item with the exact same ID were in the game at the same time, resulting in one of them being deleted
Any other reason why an item would disappear would indeed be a bug. Not saying it doesn't happen, but so far with the save files and reports we received, they were pretty much always fitting within those categories.
Thank you very much for that answer.
The duplicate thing I don't get. The only way I know to "duplicate" items is via the legacy chests. Regarding the skycrown mace, this item was not a duplicate. My character was not defeated after I got the mace and it still vanished from my backpack... In my latest playthrough I had shields (steelshiedls) sometimes vanishing from my backpack or they couldn't be removed from it until I reloaded the game. I did not use coop or any other trickery. So to me it seems that the item management still needs some work. (But as long as mayor items, like lategame weapons, don't just vanish from the inventory I'm okay with a little bug here and there)
But when it comes to a quest thats a very different story. I planned out my latest playthrough and it was near perfect with the exception of me not being able to do the "blood under the moon" quest, even though only three days have past since I finished the second quest of the holy mission (at least the 3 day waiting period experied at the same time). I walked in the inn in Monsoon and directly headed to Levant. But before Berg the quest expired as well as the 3 day waiting period until the next holy mission quest.
Being stuck in an animation is also not fun, because you have to reload the game and if you are currently fighting that can kill you.
Oh and before my latest playthrough I installed the game fresh. Don't know if that matters.
Are you still fixing bugs that concern any of the mentioned issues?
Yeah, I'm pretty sure there's some kind of bug here too, and I hope the devs are looking into it. I haven't lost any items, but I've been playing with a friend over the same network in the same house (not split screen), and he has definitely picked up shields and plants (ones he himself picked up growing in my game or from enemies we killed) and when he opened his inventory they were gone.
The new experimental branch is an example of the work we're doing. It has fixed the loading times, camera stuttering and other performance issues for a lot of players.
Any concrete information in HOW you got the bugs, and not just WHAT the bug is, would be extremely useful. It's better to have too many reproduction steps with many of them being irrelevant than to have too few and miss a piece of the puzzle. I know it's more complicated to find that information, especially when you're not a professional tester, but hey, it can't hurt to ask, right?
First of all: It is great how you respond to this, in the future ill try to recreate some of the bugs and be more aware of what I did leading to that bug.
The vanishing item bug seemed random to me until now.
The blood under the moon quest ill try to take on with my new Code Sonic character (love the feature btw) and lets see if it times out way to early again.
Cheers to Black Orpheus too. Thanks for sharing.
It auto-failed after you went from Marsh to Enmerkar because those last 3 days were the last string keeping it still active and when 3rd quest started (or could start) the parallels get dropped.
In the wiki article it says that this quest is triggered after the events in Berg. Which happens for the holy mission in the second quest. When is the best time to do this quest then? I thought you can only trigger it after you returned to Monsoon form Berg. Am I wrong?
@Evangelion when do you trigger the Blood under the Sun quest as a holy mission player? I want to start a new playthrough to see if I can do them all and I would test this then.
The Purifier and Vendavel trigger once you joined a faction. Here I think you should start with Vendavel and then do the Purifier before even doing your first faction quest.
You should do Purifier while waiting for those 3 days in order to get your first mission.
it was possible to repeatedly sell a greataxe to the sellers (all) , the transaction was performed and the item was still in inventory. After logging out, when selling the item, the transaction was performed only once.
we had no other problems in the game overall, except for the loss of fps in some areas and playing in pairs. but nothing terrible.
That's true but I've also split screen cheesed my way into many cities/outposts to buy skills, so you can definitely buy your own skills.
I collect smoke root both inside Berg and out, and they are not in my inventory right after I collect them. No time for them to decay/rot. They are simply not there.
