Running in fights is pointless, you just get taken out faster. Once the ai is behind you, it just continually attacks. Walking backwards when locked in is badly designed as well, cheap console mechanics, there's no fluidity to the movements. The only thing I've found that actually works, is strafing.. rush in drop 2-3 hits, run away...
V a single individual.. no problems, v 2 lucky to survive.. v 3.. maybe kill 1.
And I'm truly getting sick of running the distance of the map everytime I get knocked out. When getting knocked out is pretty much guaranteed and written into the game play.
Think I'll go the route 85% of the players have and quit.
The point is, the ai is written to either defend or attack. It should have breaks added in to look like it's feinting and making decisions, makes the fights more immersive than suicidal ai's just rushing into fights. Like the trogs running away at low hps or the stags even..
This should nullify most stamina issues unless you spam dodge way too often or have a very bad weapon.
Use rags to improve your damage and you can also use the tea for impact resistance - if you're not in heavy armor it's pretty much a no-brainer, at least until you learn attack patterns of enemies there.
For going to Enmerkar from Cherso it's best to have fang sword or fang axe - those two will allow you to kill most things you can encounter until you reach the city - use the rags if you have trouble. And avoid ghosts at any cost, without decent elemental damage (or ethereal) applied to your weapon it'll just be in vain.
The Coralhorn (deer type enemies, I forgot if that's their name lol) should be avoided for players who are less skilled in combat, so just circle them - they won't attack you unless you get too close to them.
If you're dying that much, do avoid large groups of enemies, don't do fights that are more that 1v1 or in worst case 1v2.
You can also use mobs there to do the fighting for you and just go in in the end and finish the last man standing and loot everything else.
I read your entire post.
I was trying to go around them, the thing is, unless you know every likely path, which if you're new to a zone, you won't, I go right to circle one group and walk into range of another..
I was literally going through the zone killing one guy, getting jumped by 2 more, killing one getting knocked out, running from a different point in zone, healing up, using camo tent, running into mobs, killing maybe 1 or 2 then running from a different point.
But then, you already know all this. You all do. Doing fights with more than 2 guys isn't always something you can plan against. You're trying to make it sound like I'm purposefully attacking them. Once they get into pursuit.. you can run out of stamina and they then stunlock you and knock you out. So unless you have some magic create stamina potion key, you're either gonna run out of stam potions or end up doing alot of running.
Of course it's easier to blame everyone else, when you already know how to play the game.. etc. The coralhorns are a pain, but two solid hits will send most of the stags running away. If anything, they're the easiest to deal with.
The only tip I managed to come up with, is run around trees and buildings and use the ai's rubbish pathing against them, whilst I regen stamina so I can keep fighting them.
I literally got knocked about about 10 times, running from cir to berg.. at one point I tried double suiciding to get respawned in or near berg.. didn't work. Ended up in immaculates cave. Then that clob guy rescued me.. from my falling off a cliff on purpose.. the guy who leaves you the note etc. I got to berg eventually but it was extremely annoying, usually I play for 4-5 hours.. that time, I gave up after about 2.
Still it should mean most of the caves are now either empty or half empty.
Another tip/trick I worked out is "don't use lock on" the "stam/impact resist" only seems to engage when you're facing something, if you run around it, then hit it there's no messing around with that resistance bar.. which only seems to be there to make me run out of stamina.
This is all part and parcel of becoming a mage.. if you sacrifice too much health/stam.. to get a decent pool of mana.. you end up getting stunlocked alot. What I need are upgrades for my stamina.. all I can find is for my health or everything.
After completing the first map I set up a plant tent camp in the swamp. Been collecting materials there. Haven't died yet.
Use cover for the tougher enemies. A large rock, fence or wall. The AI is so incompetent it doesn't know what to do if you're using cover.
If there were a reason I'd quit playing this game it wouldn't be because it's too hard, it would be because there is too much emphasis on health and resource management. There is so much of it that the game becomes mind-numbing. Monotony is the reason I can no longer play games like Anno or Sims. Eat, sleep, drink, cook and manage the hell out of your resources.
Can I fight now? No, you must forage and repair first.
The last game I played where I felt like quitting because I thought the game was too hard was Elex. Before that, Divinity Original Sin 2.
I finished Elex, and I'm glad I did, because I think that game was better than this one.
I heard they came out with a mod that made Divinity Original Sin 2 less brutal, but I never went back to it. I'm sick of isometric games. I'll never play them again.
I do prefer the more open non linear gameplay that outward offers, or gothic and similar games, like morrowind or skyrim even. I guess maybe I just trust cohhs videos too much. If if says something is good, I tend to buy it. And usually, I agree with him.
But I have 53 hours in outward, which is roughly 28p per hour..
I'll do that, if there's stamina bonuses there.
I read the first 3 words and knew what your post was actually about troll. You're an absolutist and there's no point discussing anything with you.
So.. had enough.. game is uninstalled, gonna go back to playing something else.
