Already killed Windigo for Vendavel Quest?

We cleared the Windigo's cave before the quest. She didn't have an option to turn it in and it didn't respawn when we went and checked the cave again.

maybe try spending a fare amount of time outside of the whole map itself. I've been seeing people mention 7 days. It seems random for me though. Sometimes I can kill a raptor outside monsoon and go back in do a few things like sleep then go back out and now theres 2 bandits and a raptor fighting outside the entrance lol so idk but yeah try that. Go to another map, explore, do some stuffs, keep track of your time and after 7 days go back and check.

from what I gather, the outworld repop when you're in another region for like a week.

Some mini dungeon repop in like a couple of days without the need to leave the region.

I know for a fact I've already killed the said wendigo at least 3 times.


Also, you sometime get the impression that the overworld is repoping live so to say, that's wrong, it is the monsters who are moving and sometimes hunting each others.

just curious, how did you guys kill it ? i'm still quite fresh in the game, but I had immunity potions, fire enchant on my weapon and still couldn't even get it to 50%. how did you guys do this? or just co-op ? because then I can understand, but solo for me it's not doable at all. ( yes I have the quest )

I usually kill hard enemies with a gazillion of traps and my trusted obsidian pistole.

its doable solo it just takes a long time what I try and do is have its back to me and wack it with my fang sword and just keep going in circles hitting it until its dead also doesn't hurt to have some health potions just in case it does hit you

for me he's too fast to chug healing potions. he is ravaging attack after attack, I have no clue what to do . ran away to the chamber with the build skeleton and he still kicked my ass there.

Yeah same, traps, traps, traps. Dont let him hit you when he does his little wind tunnel effect because he will Re-Heal and its a biotch. I remember the first few times I tried to mess with them without traps.

This was prob the hardest fight for me because of that crazy void attack that pretty much one shots you.

So I used an Elemental Immunity Potion + Fire Varnish for the burning effect. DoTs really help bc The First Cannibal (its official name) has a wholllle lotta HP. Good luck.

I used a hammer to kill it. A really big hammer.

Essentially i just abused a high impact damage to stun lock the thing till it got knocked down then did it again and again. Makes it kinda easy.

Back to the original topic, though -- is the Vendavel Quest broken if you killed the baddie before getting the quest?

Not sure but there's always the option to kill the witch instead.

Alright, sorry to respond so late but I went back to the windigo cave AGAIN (still dead) and when we returned I was able to complete it. I'm not sure if it was reloading, interacting with the tent, or going there and back that fixed it

and traps, lots and lots of traps all the way up the ramp with predator bones in the first one or two (bleed trap) then pull it with arrows and pray it's low enough to finish before it gets to you

Funny thing, I just did the vendavel quest last night for the backpack.

Went to the wendigo cave not realizing I already killed it. Realized my journal was considering the task already done and I just had to talk to the witch again...


so if you think you already killed it, before you go all the way there just to be sure, check your journal, who knows, maybe you will just have to tlk to the witch again xd
