Is Chersonese considered a beginner region ?
Hi,
I'm currently staying in chersonese to level up a bit and get familiar with the different enemy types, is the place considered a beginner region, so is it just ok to stay there until i cleared everything before venturing to other regions, or will that just ruin the other regions for me, since i'll be too OP for them ?

There are no levels in the game, you can't "level up" in Chersonese, just like you can't level up in the other regions.

Best you could do is amass a ton of money to buy some good gear and skills, but to get really good skills or gear, you need to leave the Chersonese anyways.

I know, what i meant by leveling up is to get money, so chersonese is a beginner region after all ?

Whatever equipement or skills i get there will be inferior to other regions right ?

With the exception of a few enemies (sword golem for example), the enemies in Chersonese are indeed weaker on average than other regions.

However, you will still need to leave, join a faction, and come back to trigger certain quests. Not to mention getting skills, properly gearing you character, etc.

There is gear (some of it unique) that can be found in the area that isn't inferior (a backpack, a lexicon, a shield that can hold you over until you get a Tsar Shield, you can still buy the Master Traders set, etc).

Edited a response to another one of your questions into my previous post.

Also, the Spellblade tree is a strong skill tree, but you should look at the other skill trees and make a plan for your character before you spend any breakthrough points. You can only master three classes. Buy and use any skills that interest you that don't cost any breakthrough points in the meantime.

You encounter by far the strongest enemy in Chersonese. The birds. They will destroy you no matter what armor you're wearing.

What do you mean breakthrough points ?

The Chersonese has the easiest enemies, most easily accessible food, and is pretty easy to navigate in because of the huge central landmark.

The defeat scenarios are pretty harsh and when winter sets in you, survival gets a lot harder because you need to keep warm, but aside from that yeah, it's the easiest region. Feel free to stay a while and gather loot and money before exploring further.

If you’re looking to “level up,” go to the desert area. Everything there drops super awesome loot that you can sell for huge bucks, but it’s also a lot tougher.

High risk, high reward. You’ll get rich and have all the money you’ll ever need to buy equipment and skills.

Honestly he can do that in chernese as well. And not have to worry about an obsidian + two burning men when hes wearing padded armor and rusty weapons with no magic.

My first play I rushed to a faction and got pushed around by everything in the marsh. If hes not ready for the heat in the desert with clothes or cold boon he will almost certainly run into trouble too, not that it can't be done and can't be faster than chernese.

Second play I hung around chernese with my wife, easily got enough silver to buy all skills from the three classes I wanted, got brand for funsies even though as a merc/sham/phil I almost never melee. Am easily handling anything the other zones have to offer now.

So long as he is willing to run to other towns to get the items he needs, or get lucky off the caravan to get what he needs (horror chitin, obsidian, occult remains), and skills then he will be fine playing in chernese to learn the ropes and "level up"

yeah, he’ll be “fine” but he won’t get loads of money any time soon.

At least go to the mountain, unlock mana, and then go to the spooky forest. That place also has decent loot

I was easily able to reach 3-4k silver within a day or two of running around. Clearing the different caves and general exploration. Remember when he runs to other towns provided he takes his time (no timed quests when you dont pick a faction) chernese will respawn.

There are plenty of ways to make money in chernese. With the ease of enemies vs how hard he would have to work vs a manticore or an obsidian pack its very likely he would earn more faster in chernese.

EDIT: Ermerkar does provide great loot and can be done. But he is going to struggle with much of what is in there. Without decent gear shell horrors will work him. The couple of scourge will work him, the undead may even give him issues without varnishes or mist potions. The shields selling for 60s are nice but he would struggle with those packs too, espeically the few quad packs of them that run around.
