Second player can't cook?

I'm playing with my friend and every time he uses the campfire he can't cook anything. Is this intended or a bug? It's annoying to drop the items, cook and then drop again.

I hope anyone can help me :).

What do you mean with "he can't cook anything"? Does he know any recipes? Can he cook manually? Or is he unable to interact with the cooking pot.

For example he can't even cook meat in the campfire. He can only cook or craft things he learned.

I'm not the host in my coop with my friend and i can cook with no issue o.o

The bug is gone now after a few restarts :). Thanks to all for the answers :)!

Bit of a necropost, but I keep having this problem. At first it works, but after a while, it just seems that the second player can't open up crafting windows. Move over the blank spot, click the button, and the window of potential ingredients just doesn't show up. How for crafting, cooking, and the alchemy pot.

Had the same problem. Definitely a bug for 2 player split screen. Been over a year, don't the developers fix bugs?

2 players can NOT use the SAME pot/npc/fire.

This is not the issue. The bug is there in our game even when the 2nd player uses his own cooking pot.

What do you mean by restarts? Just quitting the game and reloading it?

Worked for me.

I tried restarting once and it didn't fix it. So instead I restarted but made the 2nd player the 1st player and vice versa. Then quit and reloaded again with the original order. This fixed it. Perhaps enough regular restarts would have done it too though.
