Two questions about arrows

1) Is it possible to cancel a shot after drawing the bow? I.e. release without firing the arrow?

2) Is there a time limit to retrieving arrows from enemies? I hit the electro-shrimp with 6 arrows before switching to melee. The fight took a while and I didn't retrieve any. In other fights I retrieved >50%.

1) The sheath key should do it.
2) I thinks there's a random chance whether or not you can retrieve them.

Thanks about sheath key, I didn't think about it. As for arrow retrieval, I must have offended RNGesus because I haven't retrieved a single arrow lately...

From my experience you can only retrieve arrows that have missed.

It's strange. The first time I used arrows was against a pair of hyenas. I retrieved all three that hit one, but didn't retrieve the one that hit the other. Since then I've hardly retrieved any.

Just imagine that all that you can not pull out of an enemy are broken at their armor and bones.

I don't expect to retrieve all of them. It's just that from what I've seen arrow retrieval is either exceedingly unlikely and I just got very lucky that first time, or it's bugged somehow.
