Lost backpack, no icon anywhere

So I was playing in the Hallowed Marsh and I dropped my backpack to kill some things but they killed me. I woke up without my backpack in reptillian lair and died again to bleeding almost immediately. I woke up in immaculate cave without my backpack and couldn't find a way back up to the surface so I drank some poison water and died. Woke up in Monsoon Inn without my backpack. No icon for it anywhere. Not at the front gate, or in the inn... I went back to Hallowed Marsh to try to find it,died a few times and noticed that all the monsters I killed respawned and all the items I dropped in the Tower of Spire Light de-spawned, AND all the chests and junk piles respawned. So I make my way back to where I think I died first and I don't see any backpack. I combed the area finely since this backpack is half my stuff.

I can't find it, so I go to my saves and entered debug mode and comb through my saves, but apparently I moved through at least 15 areas trying to get back to the spot where I think I first died, so I can't load anything from before I woke up at the Inn...

I used debug mode to fast travel to every dungeon in Monsoon, including some I've never even been in. No backpack icon at all.

Somehow when I died the season changed and everything respawned/despawned except what was safely in towns. Including my backpack which is never supposed to despawn.

Do I have to cut my losses? Any suggestions? Last time I caught the bug quickly enough to load a previous save, but this time I can't seem to find any saves before last nigh, despite playing every day for a few days now... Please help

Yep most likely because backpacks de-spawn in the wilds. Grab a trader backpack with the debug tool Can't remember if its listed as Master Trader or just Trader

wow I did not know that. I thought only regular items did. Things in town are safe, right? Or do they need to be in a house chest?

There is a defeat scenario that progresses time by 10-12 days (if you get sent to the Inn), which is kind of ridiculous.

Healing and recuperation time calculated in the re-spawn maybe?

I just wanted to die a few times to see if backpack would respawn but dying from disease caused time to pass so I could never get it back...
