Factions in Coop

If my friend joins my game and wants to join a faction, do I get forced into the faction quests because it's my world and not his? I really don't want to screw up my run if that's the case, so I'd really appreciate some clarity about that.

For example, if you join the blue chamber in his world, then you will both be in the blue chamber. Once you get back to your world, then you will be in the faction you joined in YOUR game. His game will not affect you.

What if I am already in a faction and my friend is in another faction, how does that interact?

It doesn't interact. All quest related stuff only applies to the host. As a joining party you will not be tied to any of the hosts quests other than tracking them or turning them in for the host. It is the hosts world essentially and you are just dropping by, helping out, collecting loots etc.

OP, that's a good point. I believe it might be possible for a friend to join a faction on your behalf. It would be hard though cause you only join 1 faction and each one is in a difference city plus I would imagine you discussed which faction you want to join with said friend. It would really have to be one bad crap storm of unfortunate events for you and a friend to screw this up I think. Oh yeah, also its super easy to load previous saves if it came down to it.

Your games are not connected at all. It doesn’t matter if you already joined a faction in your own game. If you join his game, you will be part of whatever faction he joined. Lets say you are part of the blue chamber in your game and he’s part of the holy knights, once you join his game, you will also be part of the holy knights.
