Online no servers?

So i recently installed cod4 again from my cd..(Not buying from steam)
I can't find any servers?... Is there a way to fix this?

replace the excisting servercache.dat with the new one you will download here.

Default location: C:/SteamPath/steamapps/common/call of duty 4

Now go to the properties of this file and set it to: Read Only!

I am having the same issue as well. I just bought this game and can't play multiplayer :(

also the video doesnt mention to set the cache file as read only so it can stay there. if your on mac i assume you just locate the file *browse file* for cod 4 on your steam libabry then replace those files with the ones in the video. i dont know if mac uses those files.

Ok seems the master server is either crashed or offline again. I tried running an audit and got no response from the master server. I still see server in my list because I have SAVED some to my favorites. One of the most crucial and important things that seems 90%+ of the people here seem to miss. I also use the latest 1.8 patch and that helps, since it uses an alternate master server. I am trying to compile a list of servers for people to connect to. If you know any good servers, please add them to the list.

that website is good, but its limited in servers. plus its annyoing to copy the portnumber along with the ip. gametracker seems to be the most useful in terms of showing all the servers

Did you bother to look things over? The list is limited, as I said I am working on it. Adding servers daily and other can add their own. Only servers that are currently online will be displayed. If you dont want to bother copying IPs and PORTs then you definitely dont want to go to Gametracker since that is the only way youll get on. With the site I have provided there are 5 icons to the right of each server that you can use you connect. Once connected, if you like the server ADD IT TO you favorites.

You can connect via (COD4 X), XFire, HLSW, QTracker, GSC. I even have links there for the Mac counter parts for this software. Since I do not have a Steam copy of CoD4, I cannot confirm if Steam will launch the game. If it does, then I can add a link for that as well. You can test it for me if you like and let me know if a Steam link works.

Copy that into your browser and hit ENTER. If it launches the game and connect to the server, then it works and I can add that option.

You will start single player doing so.

Keep Punkbuster disabled. It's unsupported, and should not be used on servers. Join servers not running Punkbuster instead.
