Not for casuals.
Even using a controller I was unable to get past for the first bits of the tutorial level. If you're into thumb bleeding, unforgiving environmental dangers, and agressive enemy attacks this game might be for you. good luck.

Canek: Quest for Corn [Beta]

I liked it enough. it is very unoptimized some how, but it manages to capture a true retro feel for me. The game runs rough, and the controls need a little work but overall I liked the atmosphere, music, and gameplay enough to recommend it.

Overall it seemed decent. its not going to blow you away, but you shouldn't be disgusted with the state of the game or anything.

This game is making me feel like I'm back in time, playing a nes game, the gameplay mechanics are limited in a good way, I get that some people get frustrated with this demo pretty quickly, and they're supposed to, they're also supposed to overcome that frustration and try again... this is a difficult game, it's not "i wanna be the guy" kind of difficult, but it's the "you have to be careful with every move you make" difficult.

In all honesty I don't get why people are blaming the game for having unresponsive controls, since i think this has really tight controls... almost every death is your fault except for some troll deaths that I would like to see disappearing when this gets out and becomes a full game.

Considering its a development buld, i really enjoyed it...it reminded me of the stuff i used to play on super nintendo, great platforming and figuring out the bosses patterns, and when you finish it you can play again with a special power...one hundred percent worth checking out if you grew up in the golden age of platformers
