[Help] Stuck on "the secretary has a new task for you"

What do I do? I go upstairs into the office and speak to the lady, this happens: https://imgur.com/a/3QizJOW

but the text never disappears. I've done about 10 runs and nothing has changed. I check every time I come back. I've also beaten Zeus twice now but the next boss, whilst he is showing in the list, I'm not able to fight him for some reason, it always goes to Zeus.

You'll need to get Ares' token to fight him after Zeus. Raise violence until the meter is full, pay a heart container and select an item - if you're lucky a token will appear on a stand afterward.

Same goes for the next boss, only you fill the wisdom bar for her temple instead of violence.

I dont think thats what the OP is talking about. Based on that SS it is when you need to take 20 (?) Abyss Gems to the Secretary to unlock the Server Room, Vending Machine, etc.

If so, you just fight bosses till you get enough of the purple gems displayed at the bottom of the SS.

It does happen at the same time as the Ares fight, but I think that specific dialog is about paying gems.

It has said "the secretary has a task for you" for ages now. I've also gathered over 20 of those gems you need for the quest but nothing.

Look on the screen showing you the available managers. Hover the cursor over Ares. It says something about needing his token there.

I couldn't say about the secretary, but if you expect to see the next manager after Zeus, that's what you'll need to do.

it's a pain timing the violence meter correctly to find cursed ares. I put enough time in this game, unlocked all the perks and stuff, bout to delete it... got my money's worth. great game from team17 but chasing the achievements is a fool's errand.

After Boss fights there are golden Gems and dark ones. You need 20 of the dark ones.

And yes I agree cursed Ares is really hard to get to.
