Perhaps negative damage?
Seed was: AY49V78D.
I had the Meteor weapon and some upgrades to make it stronger ofc. But I got the feeling, that the item "Player two ready" increased the damage for a short time but after some moments, the enemies didnt take damage anymore (or just very low damage). The bullet size was still increasing but the damage shortly rose up and nearly vanished. It was easy to spot in a boss fight (health bar showed it).
Maybe it is relevant for the devs? I had to stop shooting so my shots get smaller and could start shooting again, just to stop shooting again because I did no damage again :D

Identical thing happened to me. Made it to Zeus but on the way had enemies it would take minutes to kill. Just pouring shots into them. Had to quit on the boss because I did no damage.
Meteor weapon, Player two ready, Beast Amulet, 2077 (8 Shields), Wade Tech, Space Soda, Like of the King, Power Diamond, Seals Patch, Nerve System, Garand Clip, Golden Apple, Lion Headgear, Paper Windmills, and Pain Drop. Should have easily won the playthrough. Really disconcerting bug.

From what I've observed, bosses appear to get damage reduction based on the number of hits. I'm sure it's to prevent players from instantly nuking bosses, but the result of it is guns with high fire rates will do almost no damage and you have to slow your shooting to let the damage protection wear off.

This means that guns like meteor, noise, and the gattling gun (forget the name) which have a super high number of hits means you actually end up doing LESS damage to the boss rather than more. Upgrades that increase the number of bullets make it much worse as well. I've had runs where I'd be instantly clearing rooms to doing virtually no damage to the boss.

I also suspect the spiked enemies which bounce around dropping eggs also has this protection because they get suspiciously tanky with multihit guns.

I now avoid all guns which have a high bullet count/fire rate and haven't had an issue yet. Hopefully the devs will fix it soon.

yeah, i just had the same issue. went to zeus pretty easily with a nice build and the gattling gun, it's impossible for me to kill him, he takes no damage at all, the run is doomed :< hopefully the devs fix it soon

I've been running into the same problem as well. Where due to luck I manage to get pretty overpowered in some sense, and can fly through enemies with ease, except for the spiked ball enemies that seem to have a similar issue as bosses. Yet the damage I end up dealing to some of the bosses, like Zeus, pales in comparison doing only a sliver of damage to their health bar. This has causes me to lose some really good runs, and ruins my interest in continuing playing afterwards.

Yeah, this issue is really killing the fun of the game. Having bosses (and some random enemy types) become basically invincible really, really sucks and I've had it ruin several otherwise good runs. I really hope it gets fixed soon, I'm simply not gonna play the game like this.

Yes exactly. Just reducing the extreme damage runs with some kind of downscaling is fine. But adjusting it in a way that you deal no damage at all is too crazy. And a run killer, yeah!

same here!
I had awesome run but took me minute to kill one spiky creature. and than I got stuck at Zeus boss b\c I couldnt damage him

This is likely why the Black Raven gun absolutely wrecks bosses, low fire rate (wth a reload) and high damage.

Edit: wrong gun :)

I had the one gun that shoots the lasers that spin around you and experienced the same issue, i had obscene fire rate and number of shots that made the bosses damage reduction reach it's cap immediately, i also had Player ready two and after picking that up i noticed my shots weren't exactly doing the same amount of damage to all enemies.
