What's the purpose of Mouldy Hearts?
I don't get it. Are they just hearts that have a chance of hurting you instead of healing you? Why would that be a good mechanic? Maybe if it was a double or nothing sort of thing I would get the appeal more, or if it was a mouldy shield that would make more sense.

Like I understand that this game takes a lot of influences from The Binding of Isaac, and BOI definitely has troll items that you don't want to take if you want to win, but even most troll items kinda have a use to them.

Maybe there's a secret to Mouldy Hearts that I haven't found yet, but so far I'm confused.

it makes all hearts damage you for 1.2 a heart, or heal for a full heart.
oit's pretty useless. as it's quite easy to stuff up on hearts.
even on a hard run with Ares as my target, i was passing by hearts.

the devs are aware of the terrible moldly hearts, and the deal with it glasses cat as well.

I've purposely avoided the rule upgrade that adds moldy hearts as a regular thing because I don't see any point to them and would much rather avoid them.
