Ways to exit boss room (lvl. 5+)

There should be a way to return to the main part of the level that you are on, after you complete the boss fight. You can do that in levels 1-4, but when you reach lvl. 5 you cant. I often do boss fights when i see them, and sometimes i accidentally do them before i complete the whole lvl. I miss out on a lot of loot when I cant return.
