Finishing Achievements

If anyone can help, if anyone ever reads this, I am trying to complete all games in my library whether they count or not. I have tried to get the last two achievements:

Command five or more ships (Which I should have achieved in mission 3)
Complete 5 missions

For those who have achieved these two, what are the parameters? Do you have to start the mission, in this case mission 4, with 5 ships? Or should I get it once I activate the two other ships on mission 3. With the 5 missions do they have to be in succession e.g. mission 1 - 5 or can it be mission 1 x 5?

It's a pain in the ass with the crashes and the fact that it's been left abandoned but any help would be great, cheers!
