Ship movement in space
First, is height / vertical movement a factor in gameplay, or planned to be added, or is this strictly two-dimensional?

Second, do ships move like aircraft / wet-navy ships, or they have inertia in directions other than "foward" like real spacecraft wood (can I spin/flip my ship around to keep weapons on target or present fresh shields/armor while drifting on my original trajectory, or generally point my nose in one direction while moving in another on secondary thrusters or inertia)?

Hi, IMOT is grid based, main ships do combat on a 2D based grid for now. We do plan look into more options for ship movement on the future development.
As for your second question, the ships do not have any inertia build in to them, but we plan to add rotation into the mix so ships can utilize more effectively their deck guns, we plan it as a trade of mechanic on where some parts of the ship or subsystems are more vulnerable on certain positions.
In the current state IMOT is a grid based turn based game with some real time elements. Any more questions please feel free to ask.
