I don't think so.
From what I've seen posted elsewhere, this version doesn't have the animation issues that the mobile versions have, plus the artwork is improved in this version.

(There's one thing wrong with this video though, the new version does have options for transparency in the text box).

It's more based on the better 3DS version than the iOS version.
