I still love the premise of the game though and seems there's still a lot going on. Portraits or not, I'm willing to give this game a shot.
no.
Also, harvest moon like games are not really about dating...
Fair, but it does not mean all games should go that route, especially this one that is kinda... Let's kill this town and make sacrifices for the old ones.
Seriously, saying that trio of town is an easy farming game really is strange, i spent much time planting and upgrading the star level of my crops, and not to mention raising heart levels of my pets, and raising my animals. There is also a plot that requires a certain level of farming skills to actually resolve. Marriage is totally optional, if you dont want it dont do it. But it's not an easy game (the type of fertilizer to use, the pet treats, the maker machines), mineral town had far easier game mechanics. In fact the older games do.
And since we don't share the same opinion and I am offended that you said that trio of towns is an easy game, considering the hours I spent on my crops and animals, you stick to your ideas and I stick to mine. Do not repond to me.
but "old school" 1999 harvest moon 2 had even portrait.

I think dev have ability to draw portrait of characters,
judging by dev's previous game - Emerge: Cities of the Apocalypse.
dev, I love your idea and concept of this game really much,
and I may pay for it as AAA game price, but...
if there is no portrait of characters,
you are losing many latent fans.
I know you have no time until release date,
but please add portrait by future update.
The game won't lose many players over this. Plus if someone is really passing on the game just because they can't look at a drawn picture of the characters then they clearly weren't that interested to begin with. Portraits would be nice but they are a minor feature that most people will be perfectly able to manage without.
People will buy the game based on if they like the tone/writing/gameplay. Not whether or not it has character portraits.
that's what you think.
well, I don't want to waste my time.
Steam sales statistics will tell.
good luck, dev.
I get wanting to have pictures of characters but on one hand you're saying "Don't support there's no point if it doesn't have pictures" then you're saying "I love your concept and want to support this" then "lol good luck I'm not wasting my time on it"?
Do you really care about this game or are you just trying to stir the pot? I feel like it's the latter.
I don't mind pictures myself and I'm picking it up just on pure concept/gameplay since I seen the people playing their review copies and it seems great with how it is right now. Plus the dev is being super active so I have high hopes for them listening to us.
As it is, the game will ship without 'em. Like the third reply wrote, they might be added in an update (or separate future edition), but that depends on sales / budget / other priorities. Portraits would also be made for all characters, not just 'girls you can marry'.
The game btw also is far from an 'AAA price', and adding portraits won't suddenly quadruple it.
Obviously it's different if the characters look mature in the portraits, like in Stardew Valley, but my experience with the HM series as described above has me appreciating a lack of portraits as well.
