It is REALLY easy. start from the middle, and close the shells they work in a:

- - -
- pattern.

Move to the edges.

took me a minute to figure it out originally, but its not too hard to solve

I think the trick to it is that you can also interact with closed ones. Definitely got a lot easier for me when I started doing that.
