Helicopters, with attached pads, do work rather well. They deviate from their lines and turn up for repairs and then get repaired.
However there seems to be a certain vehicle type (?) or point of where they are where they do NOT get repaired but accumulate as "time clock" type repairs....

they clog up the slots within a repair station and yet do not get repaired. This can have consequences.
Other vehicles can arrive, or the repair truck visit with service material, and they are repaired.
But there is a certain number and possible type that do not.
You could "attach" a vehicle repair station to a CO, for example. By building it close and so there is an association. BUT that would only, potentially, resolve that single issue and not the problem as a whole.
All 17 of my repair station were rebuilt with the .12 update.
What do you mean by "sen them manually" - do you mean to press the button in their Window for them to start to search for a repair station..? That doesn't necessarily, in my experience, mean they will guarantee as prompt a repair as, for example, a helicopter.
What happens is - a car (usually attached to CO) is working until it drops completelly. Then I send it to repair station. That is not a good way to handle a problem. That is why I am searching for better one to deal with situation.
Ah, so you need to absolutely manually take control of the whole repair process and then reallocate it back to the CO.
Point taken, less than ideal tho.
Have you ventured into ships and trains, for repairs..?
Really have no idea, what will I do, when the time comes to repair them :D
IIRC I remember you from the Forrest Village game.
Anyway.................Ships, so far, are not like helicopters.
You have to physically "connect" a repair station to a dock. It will remotely connect, association by road, but ONLY to the general dock where you park ships.
However getting them to visit that dock is not successful.
Getting a ship to be repaired on any dock, by physical connection, that it does not directly visit is also not going well.
What I mean is if you have a repair station connected between a liquid and aggregate type dock, to cover both, then a ship on another line that passes close will not visit them for repairs. Unlike helicopters.
Trains.......................
And thanks for the tips
i noticed my vehicles started going there on their own after they reached 80+% of wear and tear, not sure if there is a setting somewhere to decide at what point they should get off the roads to get repaired
The setting is located in the left menu, you can select the vehicle repair values for each class of them.
thanks!
